Shahina EK

Shahina EK (born June 29, 1978) is a South Indian contemporary short story writer from Kerala. She is one of the newcomers in Malayalam literature. She was born in Perinthalmanna, Malappuram district in Kerala. Her stories speak about the common people and the issues related with them. Her first book ''Wooden horses of Anadapadmanabhan'' (അനന്തപദ്മന്ഭാന്റെ മരക്കുതിരകൾ) got translated to English. Apart from story writer, she is a poet as well as respectable translator. She translated Khalil Gibran’s "The prophet" to (Malayalam:പ്രവാചകൻ).
